【Event Report】December 4th: Japan's First Full-Scale Event Camera Seminar Draws a Capacity-Exceeding Turnout
TOKYO December 11, 2025
CenturyArks Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Yoshinobu Oka) is pleased to announce the successful completion of Japan's first full-scale event camera seminar, “Powered by SilkyEvCam®,” held on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
Event Camera Seminar – “Powered by SilkyEvCam®”
This seminar provided a valuable opportunity for academic researchers and industry experts deeply involved in event cameras to gather and freely discuss a wide range of topics in depth, including research papers, event sensors, corresponding software information, and application case studies.
Participants were expected to have a basic understanding of event cameras, their usage, and practical experience. The seminar aimed to provide advanced, hands-on content to deepen understanding of event cameras and the event-based world as cutting-edge technologies, thereby supporting future research, development, and implementation.
Workshop and Poster Display at the Venue
At the venue, we held two workshops led by one of the lecturers, Mr. Schmitt of TwinSense Co., Ltd., and our Development Department, and displayed posters on the latest joint research papers and development results by companies.
Thanks to your support, we were able to accommodate more than the original capacity of 30 participants on the day of the event. More than 70% of the participants appeared to be technical professionals, and after each lecture, as well as during the general Q&A session, we received many highly technical questions and inquiries about the future of event cameras. We received very positive responses in the satisfaction survey.
<Excerpts from participant feedback >
- I believe this camera has a wide range of potential applications, so I would appreciate it if you could introduce more practical examples.
- I think this camera can be used as a substitute for experiments that previously required expensive equipment, and as a tool for exploration that allows students and teachers to think freely.
- If the concept can be extended to communication technology, I imagine it could also be extended to the field of security, which I find very exciting.
- I felt this was a valuable initiative and information exchange session, serving as an academic gathering for practical applications of event-based cameras.
Our President and COO, Mr. Oka, commented: “We were delighted to welcome an unexpectedly large number of attendees. The lively Q&A session following the presentations reaffirmed the high expectations everyone has for EVS (Event-Based Vision Sensors). I am thrilled we could share the excitement I felt when I first encountered EVS.”
