Regarding Metavision SDK Versions (Paid and Free)

Prophesee's Metavision SDK is a software toolkit that can be used by purchasing our SilkyEvCam event camera and installing the plug-in files. (Download the plug-in files here)
The Metavision SDK comes in two versions: paid and free.

version 5.x.x and later (Paid version)(Available from October 7, 2024)
  • This version is for customers who have purchased our SilkyEvCam product and acquired a paid license.
  • Licenses can be purchased directly from Prophesee or, within Japan, through the authorized distributor, Lester Co., Ltd. (https://www.restargp.com/).
  • Supported OS for version 5.0.0/version 5.1.x: Windows 10 / Ubuntu 22 / Ubuntu 24
    Supported OS for version 5.2.x : Windows 11 / Windows 10 / Ubuntu 22 / Ubuntu 24 (Updated on January 14, 2026)
  • This is a commercial-grade license.
  • Source code for all modules is provided.
version 4.6.2 (Free version)
  • This applies to customers who have purchased our product SilkyEvCam.
  • After registering as a user on Prophesee's website, a download link will be sent via email.
  • version 4.6.2 (updated July 2, 2024) is the final version; no further updates are planned. Installed software can continue to be used as before. New installations are also possible. (As of December 25, 2025)
  • Supported OS: Windows 10 / Ubuntu 20 / Ubuntu 22
  • Source code is provided for some modules only.

For Windows, the officially supported OS for the Metavision SDK (version 4.6.2/version 5.0.0/5.1.x) is Windows 10 only. However, it has been confirmed to function generally on Windows 11, as of January 14, 2026.
