More Bustling than Expected! Report on exhibitions in June

This is a translation of the original Japanese information for internal use and reference purpose only.
(1) IMAGE SENSING SHOW 2023
Dates and locations: June 14 (Wed.)-16 (Fri.), 2023, Pacifico Yokohama (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture)
We exhibited at the "IMAGE SENSING SHOW 2023" a specialized exhibition for image processing equipment and sensing technologies. Although the weather was unfavorable (cloudy and rainy) for two of the three days of the exhibition, the number of visitors increased by about 1,000 from last year to 10,008.
At our booth, we introduced two models of our event-based vision cameras, “SilkyEvCam®”, AI system with SilkyEvCam® and the "BothView" product idea combined with frame cameras as application and peripheral devices. Thanks to the great success of the event, we were able to increase the number of staff members who attended, but it sometimes took a little time before we could explain the products. About 90% of the visitors visited our booth had never heard of event-based cameras before.
After the exhibition, we have been providing demonstrations and explanatory sessions toward the visitors and their teams/companies. We hope that more people will use event-based cameras and that it will lead to improvement of productivity, efficiency, and quality of their business.

Our next exhibition will be The 38th NEPCON JAPAN (Autumn) at Makuhari Messe in September this year.
(2) CVPR 2023 Ramblings by Yoshinobu Oka, CenturyArks Co., Ltd.
Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Conference (CVPR) 2023
Dates and Location: June 18 (Sun.) - 22 (Thu.), 2023, Vancouver Convention Centre (Canada)
We attended CVPR 2023, one of the world's three major international conferences on computer vision. Nevertheless, we borrowed part of the corporate exhibit booth of PROPHESEE, a company that provides the software toolkit used for our SilkyEvCam®, and exhibited SilkyEvCam®, a focus adjustment tools and BothView on the 19th and 20th. The entire exhibition was so exciting that crowds formed in the aisles even before the exhibition started. We were so popular/kept busy with dealing with visitors that we were unable to take any photos, and the image below right shows the preparations in progress (laugh).
The number of panel presentations for the entire exhibition was about 300, of which about 50 were for event-based cameras. In the lecture hall about event-based cameras, there were 100 seats, but about 20 people stood or sat on the floor and listened to the lectures enthusiastically.
There were a few panel presentations by Japanese companies and research institutes such as universities, but no booth exhibits, and there were few Japanese participants, many of whom were from China and Korea. The conference will be held in Seattle next year, and we hope to see more Japanese participants!
