CenturyArks Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku in Tokyo, President: Takeshi Saitoh) hereby announces that the price revision of “SilkyEvCam® (VGA) ”, which is the entry model of our “Event-Based Vision Camera” (event-based camera in general) products, in order to allow more people to experience our “event-based camera” that output luminance changes together with pixel coordinates and time information at high speed and low power consumption. The price revision is effective for quotes issued on or after Friday, June 9.

Since its launch in October 2020, our SilkyEvCam® series, which mimics the function of human vision, has been used in a variety of applications including automotive manufacturing, logistics and distribution, housing equipment, the medical research and health care, etc.

An image “event” can be expressed in three terms, “polarity of luminance changes”, “pixel coordinates”, and “time”.

When an object moves, changes in light occur.
An event-based camera has the ability to detect changes in light (objects) asynchronously and at high speed on a pixel-by-pixel basis, and simultaneously output “coordinates” and “time” information, smoothly displaying the “motion” of the object.

Since only “events” are detected and output when its luminance changes exceed the preset threshold value, the data itself is streamlined and the burden on the processor is reduced. If light does not change, no event occurs and no output is produced. Therefore “event-based camera” makes it easy to capture events for long periods of time, even when it is not known when the event will appear. Since light change information per pixel is detected and transmitted in microseconds, even high-speed events can be captured and played back in super-slow motion.

PROPHESEE's event-based vision sensor (PPS3MVCD) is equipped in the camera.

The environment of softwear development and an algorithm library called METAVISION® Intelligence Suite provided by PROPHESEE can be used by installing our plug-in files. Since this product is equipped with the latest technology, the event-based vision sensor, it is difficult to understand the difference between this camera products and conventional frame-based cameras, and we have received many requests for a demo unit to understand its characteristics and advantages. We have decided to revise the price of the event-eased camera because we believe that it will be helpful to solve your problems if you try it out first.

●We will be exhibiting at the IMAGE SENSING SHOW 2023 in June and introducing SilkyEvCam®. We hope you will stop by our booth and take advantage of the opportunity to actually touch and feel the SilkyEvCam®.
